Before moving to Alabama, I had heard of Publix and their great Buy One Get One Free sales. I had heard about their lovely policy of charging 1/2 price for each item instead of full price for one and nothing for the free item. I had heard about their cooking demonstrations and Kids' Cookie Club.
But oh my!!! I never expected to love this store so much! I have saved more money at this store than any other store I've shopped at in the past. I plan most of my menu around what is on sale at Publix and really don't have a need to stop at the larger discount store (ahem, Walmart) for groceries.
I found a great money-maker in this week's Publix ad and you have until the store closes on Tuesday to grab this one:
Get a FREE $10 Publix Gift Card with the purchase of a $50 American Express Gift Card. The "activation fee" for the American Express Gift Card is $3.95, but that still leaves $46.95 to spend on the AmEx card PLUS the $10 Publix Gift Card. I have worked for Publix for almost 28 yrs. I am glad you have gotten to experience them. In FL we dont do the 1/2 on BOGO, we do 100% for 1st and zero for the second. I like the way you have it. Publix in FL did it that way in the old days.

My Publix here in central Florida is awesome - they do the 1/2 off on bogo's so i can use two coupons and get awesome deals!!! i LOVE publix too - its my favorite store.
